I have a huge fondness for Swifts. For me they capture the English Summer. Soaring and screeching above rooftops, capturing bugs as they go. Each year they fly enormous distances to the UK shores from the African continent. (Roughly 6-7000miles, taking 6 weeks to complete the journey) 

With this particular piece, I have tried to capture the Swift's distinctive silhouette in the blue sky. Each bird is hand cut, hand Lino printed with black ink. The black ink is a highlight of their amazing wings.
